What You Will Do:

The Senior Network Engineer will manage and provide technical leadership for Valley Health’s network infrastructure. This position will demonstrate strong knowledge of wired and/or wireless IP networks, routing protocols and technologies. The Senior Network Engineer will manage: the core network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, security appliances - proficiently configuring in an enterprise environment. The Senior Network Engineer will also help with administration of Microsoft servers, Linux/UNIX servers on an as-needed basis. The Senior Network Engineer will manage, evaluate and resolve service effecting issues that impact both technically-demanding internal and external customers. Also, responsible for the overall design and framework of the data network, and will work closely with other staff members providing like services; responsible for the integration of new systems into the existing VH network, including clinical and business applications.

What You Will Bring:

Education

Associates degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related Technical discipline and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required or Bachelor’s degree required with CCNA preferred or Minimum 10 years of network engineering in large, enterprise environment and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification required

Experience
Five years technical leadership in data networking required


Qualifications
• Proficiency with most of the following device types: routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, security appliances, access points required • Proficiency with Quality of Service configuration (QOS); TCP/IP Networking, routing protocols required • Strong troubleshooting skills to include some of the following: session level debugging and interpreting data flow, packet / protocol analyzers, debug logs, SNMP alerts, network packets, etc to find and remedy application and network performance issues • Strong organizational, analytical and communications skills necessary; self-directed individual • Vendor management and negotiating skills desirable • Ability to respond to customer needs in a timely manner • Experience with network management tools for integrated lifecycle operations across Cisco networks.
