Thrive Pet Healthcare is hiring a People Operations Partner (HRBP) to join our team!

The People Operations Partner (HRBP) is a key member of the People Operations team, which helps support a great employee experience at Thrive! We are growing our team and need a collaborative team player that is ready to dig in and partner with leaders on day-to-day HR but has a strategic mindset to help us shape the future. This will be a strong generalist focusing on business partnership, employee relations, and program/process implementation. You'll be joining a passionate team helping leaders transform their organizations, creating engaging workplace cultures for great employee experiences and people operations processes for an assigned region(s). This position will be a hybrid role consisting of time on site and remote work. 


  • Serve as strategic business partner to leaders by supporting managers and employees in matters related to career development, staffing, employee relations, performance management and employee engagement  
  • Proactively provide creative and engaging solutions to motivate employees at different career points and stages  
  • Coach leaders and people managers to proactively manage employees and provide advice and guidance on varying employee topics and issues  
  • Drive and support performance management processes across assigned region 
  • Support various training and development programs  
  • Manage sensitive offboarding conversations and exits  
  • Oversee documentation and retention measures, always seeking to improve processes that ensure legal compliance  
  • Stay up to date on employment law and current best practices to help better facilitate the employee experience  
  • Other projects, as needed  


  • Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of Human Resources experience preferably in a multi-state environment (or 8+ years’ experience in lieu of degree) 
  • PHR, SHRM-CP preferred  
  • Labor union experience is required 
  • Open to travel up to 25% of the time  
  • Able to combine great people intuition, business judgement and discretion in your decision-making  
  • Proven experience in conflict resolution and management practices  
  • Experience providing business partnership and support to a diverse group of leaders and managers  
  • Successful track record of implementing HR processes, performance management and change management  
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal), exemplary client service skills, the ability to handle multiple projects and competing priorities and adapt to a fluid, high-growth environment  
  • Knowledge of HR compliance regulations, employment laws, and industry best practices  
  • Team player with a sense of ownership and “get things done” attitude - self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced and self-directed environment  
  • Deep comfort level with technical systems and various software, experience with Workday a plus  
  • Values and respects confidentiality  
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
