Job Summary: 
The VP of Marketing is responsible for marketing strategy and execution for Thrive Pet Healthcare. This role oversees comprehensive and integrated marketing campaigns, programs, and partnerships to drive organic growth across the company’s veterinary services and products.  This role will oversee client acquisition, engagement, and retention; campaign and program development and execution; creative development; brand management; retail product planning; and channel management. This leader will collaborate with partners like digital marketing, local marketing, operations, medical excellence, pricing, and supply chain to execute marketing programs across the company’s 365+ hospitals while developing and leveraging relationships with supplier partners, agencies, and strategic partners to amplify impact. 

The VP of Marketing will use data, analytics, and strong business acumen to lead strategy, product and consumer experience development, and the creative articulation of client and hospital-facing programs. 

This senior leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing campaigns in multi-unit service businesses. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of general management, creativity, analytical acumen, and leadership skills to drive organic growth across Thrive’s portfolio of general practice, specialty/emergency, and boutique hospitals. This role will be a key thought partner to other divisions, advising the company’s B2B division on marketing best practices and the company’s corporate communications function on talent branding. 

  
Responsibilities: 
•    Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that surveys the macro environment, competitive landscape, emerging industry, and consumer trends, client needs, and current operating environment that is aligned with business objectives, ensuring execution across all channels and locations considering the top co-brand, hospital brands, and marketing engagement programs like loyalty and financing.
•    Brand Management: Oversee the development and maintenance of the brand identity, ensuring it aligns with the company's values and resonates with the target audience.
•    Customer Acquisition, Engagement, and Retention: Lead efforts to attract new clients through targeted marketing campaigns, digital advertising, social media, and other relevant channels. Lead internal and external campaigns to engage current clients with messaging, promotions, and amplification of the company’s Thrive Plus membership program. 
•    Data-driven decision-making: Provide thought leadership and direct data analytics and market research to inform marketing strategies, optimize campaigns, and measure performance against KPIs.
•    Creative and Content Production: Oversee creative content production team and lead creative and messaging strategy for all marketing communications and programs while partnering with relevant stakeholders for input.  
•    Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team consisting of marketing, creative, and marketing channel managers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
•    Partnerships and Collaborations: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance the company's visibility and reputation within the veterinary and pet care community.
•    Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively to maximize ROI.
•    Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including operations, finance, supply chain, and people operations, to ensure alignment and cohesion in achieving overall business goals.

Key Qualifications:
•    Undergraduate 4-year degree or higher required in Business or Marketing specifically. MBA is strongly preferred.
•    10+ years of client-side Marketing experience in the multi-unit service industry. 
•    Solid marketing generalist experience across marketing disciplines like brand and category management, advertising (digital, video, print, social, point-of-sale, etc.), price promotion, influencer, PR, events, website/digital utilities, loyalty, and sales/broker/channel communication support.
•    Strong written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. Candidates must be able to work in a collaborative work environment
•    Prior management experience is required.
