Product Marketing Analyst

Tyler Technologies is looking for a product marketing analyst who will support the Socrata product line. The product marketing analyst will lead market analysis, go to market strategy, competitive positioning & pricing, create buyer and competitor profiles, and drive growth initiatives and collaborate on product launches. Tyler’s Connected Government Cloud is built to enable a data driven approach to achieve mission critical outcomes for state, local, and federal government.


  • Lead go to market strategies and planning including assistance with market sizing, segmentation, addressable market analysis, buyer personas, competitive analysis, differentiators, and help advise the direction of product, marketing, and sales team plans to bring new products to market.
  • Support the launch of new products including coordinating the launch plan.
  • Define product positioning, develop key messages, packaging, pricing, assist with product naming and consult on demand generation, operational readiness, and sales enablement.
  • Identify & track metrics to determine the effectiveness of product marketing activities.
  • Support the sales enablement function by helping customer facing teams understand new products and functionality to promote sales, adoption, and strong references.
  • Direct competitive intelligence activities to develop SWOT analysis, sales tools, and product recommendations.
  • Conduct win/loss interviews with prospects and new customers, summarize findings, and provide recommendations.
  • Collect, analyze and synthesize key market, buyer, product, and competitive insights and trends from multiple sources to develop insightful recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain strong working knowledge of the Socrata platform and similar data platform software, along with their major trends, needs, and competitors.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing and product to deliver on cross functional business initiatives.
  • Travel to meet customers and attend industry events as needed (up to 20% travel).


  • Have a passion for product marketing and the desire to become an expert with technical products and solutions.
  • Have 4+ years’ product marketing experience in the cloud SaaS solutions.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in business, management, marketing, finance or other related discipline. An MBA is preferred.
  • Have experience pricing SaaS products.
  • Bring a business ownership mentality and be cognizant of impact of product marketing activities to profit and loss.
  • Comfortable working closely with senior divisional business, sales and marketing leadership, providing bi-weekly reports on initiatives and impact to business.
  • Have strong analytical skills. Experience in strategic market analysis, competitive intelligence, and/or business model analysis is preferred.
  • Demonstrate advanced skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Experience with PowerBI and MS Dynamics CRM is a plus.
  • Have outstanding oral and written presentation skills – able to communicate ideas in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • Have a strong understanding of the business environment at the strategic level and have good business acumen.
  • Be a team player, capable of building strong networks and working relationships by effectively influencing people.
  • Understand technical solutions, manage large amounts of data and organize it into meaningful presentations.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment while handling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Be flexible and able to pivot quickly when priorities change.
  • Be comfortable funneling constructive criticism into new ideas.
