Responsibilities

  • Masterfully construct and lead a dynamic sales force to introduce our innovative public safety solutions to the public sector market.
  • Attain expert-level proficiency in Tyler’s public safety products and strategic market positioning.
  • Display exemplary leadership in guiding, empowering, and backing a sales team to achieve and surpass sales objectives.
  • Architect and deploy effective, streamlined sales strategies that empower the sales force to deliver Tyler’s public safety offerings.
  • Develop and nurture a comprehensive, national sales pipeline, targeting all fifty states and their local government agencies with tailored strategies.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with sales executives across Tyler divisions, fostering a cohesive sales approach.
  • Excel in delivering compelling sales presentations to executive-level stakeholders, influencing decision-making processes.
  • Proactively scan national and local media, as well as industry channels, to gather intelligence that fuels sales activity.
  • Maintain acute awareness of governmental trends, competitive landscapes, and technological advancements.
  • Represent Tyler in key meetings and forums, including association gatherings and internal strategy sessions.
  • Guide sales enablement resources to heighten opportunity pipeline across divisions.
  • Lead the sales team in responding to (Requests for Proposals) RFPs with astute, tailored submissions, leveraging insights from prior engagements and research.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration across teams during deal cycles, guaranteeing aligned resources and commitment. 
  • Diligently manage CRM activities, ensuring up-to-date tracking of meetings, opportunities, and pipeline progress.
  • Accurately project revenue forecasts and provide quarterly sales analysis.
  • Drive market research initiatives to identify and act on addressable market opportunities.
  • Work closely with Marketing to ensure sales materials are current and compelling.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement in sales operations, tools, and support materials, aligning with Tyler’s overarching goals.
  • Be willing to travel 30-50% of the time, based on business needs and opportunities.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in selling complex, enterprise-level SaaS solutions and services, especially to state and local government entities.
  • Proven track record in sales leadership roles within the public safety or software solutions industry, with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Strong management skills, including the ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team towards achieving objectives.
  • Proven sales experience in the law enforcement or public safety sectors is highly desirable.
  • A consistent track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a knack for personable interactions in both governmental and business contexts.
  • Outstanding verbal, presentation, and written communication abilities.
  • In-depth experience engaging with executive and department-level management within state and local governments.
  • Strategic acumen in managing key client relationships and navigating cross-state and local client dynamics.
  • Anticipatory approach to market and client needs, with a talent for cross-organizational collaboration to innovate solutions.
  • Well-versed in government sales methodologies, practices, and procedures.
  • High level of self-management, motivation, and flexibility.
  • Travel readiness to propel sales initiatives forward.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with familiarity in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, PowerBI, and Salesforce platforms.
