Description

Tyler's Corporate Cloud Services team is hiring a TechOps Engineer to join our TechOps team.  A TechOps Engineer builds and runs large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems deployed on Tyler's cloud platforms. This Engineering role ensures that the services supporting Tyler’s applications have reliability, and uptime appropriate to users' needs as well as monitor systems capacity and performance for best user experience. Additionally focusing on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, and eliminating work through automation using the latest guidelines set by the Enterprise security, engineering, and development guidelines.     

 

Responsibilities    

  • Engineer and maintain systems that support core Cloud Infrastructure Services.
  • Automate operational tasks and the gathering of service level indicators.
  • Research complex technical problems, formulate recommendations, and build technically sound and scalable solutions, gather ROI details and advising Leadership.
  • Interact with the DevOps and Engineering teams, on new projects and complex systems to support the business.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation on operational tool sets and cross-train personnel on their use and maintenance.
  • Be collaborative with excellent communication skills.
  • Be able to learn new technologies independently and quickly.
  • Be able to manage one’s own work setting expectations and priorities.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to a strict change control policy, with an eye toward never violating PCI, CJIS, SSAE or other standards-based certifications maintained within the Tyler Datacenters.
  • Will be required to undergo and satisfactorily pass a fingerprint background check (for CJIS requirements).

 

Qualifications 

  • Three to five years IT career spanning any of the following: support, development, infrastructure and/or data analytics/dba
  • Hands on experience of deployment and support of applications in any one of Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Understanding of industry standard IAM practices.
  • Practical experience with architecting automation solutions
  • Cloud Based deployment automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Heat, etc.
  • Experience with Virtualization technologies, AWS AppStream preferred.
