Responsibilities

  • Assist the warehouse manager by helping to manage and coordinate all warehouse activities, operations, and staff to ensure conformance to established procedures.
  • Manage & oversee warehouse activities in support of distribution operations including but not limited to receiving, storing, picking, & shipping.
  • Maintain strict inventory control.
  • Ensure accurate and timely shipments and receipts.
  • Enforce established safety guidelines; promote a safe workplace.
  • Maintain accurate records and metrics, audit, as necessary.
  • Assist with quarterly and/or annual physical inventories.
  • Process returned, rejected, and obsolete parts.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of operating systems pertaining to the work area.
  • Assign duties and monitor quality of work; assure staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight of team in the absence of the manager.
  • Keep up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years related experience or equivalent.
  • Strong inventory control skills.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations best practices.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in shipping and receiving.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating team.
  • Commitment to excellence and lofty standards.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic competence in team duties and tasks, including the operation of warehouse equipment.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to manage priorities and workflow, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to understand all safety requirements.
  • Ability to perform the physical labor necessary, lifting up to 75 pounds.
  • Able to work overtime as needed.
