The PM Manager is expected to be a mentor and advisor to Project Managers and a thought-leader and ambassador for Tyler project management processes.  In addition, the Manager is responsible for overseeing the work of project management personnel.  While the Manager will report directly to Director of Professional Services for Infinite Visions, the position will have a dotted line to the Manager of Professional Services for SIS and VP of Professional Services & Support, Schools.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as point of contact for Project Managers to resolve project management issues.
  • Reviews project plans for compliance with standard processes.
  • Monitors and reports on team contribution to revenue targets and departmental goals.
  • Monitors project milestones, deliverables, budget compliance, client health, and other project management oversight.
  • Serves as liaison with Accounting for project management escalations.
  • Reviews contracts to determine appropriate PM assignment for new projects.
  • Collaborates in identifying and developing continuing education opportunities for project management team.
  • Collaborates with other Department Managers to develop and implement best practices for the organization.
  • Mentors Project Managers in relevant soft skills, including time management, effective communication, risk management, and conflict management.
  • Develops and implements project management process improvement.
  • Obtains regular feedback from staff and/or clients regarding project quality to continually find ways to improve processes and ensure an efficient and effective client experience.
  • Commits to expanding project management skills and maintaining advanced knowledge of the Tyler/LGD PMO processes, tools and templates.
  • Acts as subject matter expert for PSA, Changepoint.
  • Supports SIS with PSA and PMO items.
  • Drives PM empowerment.
  • Provides and produces for management as needed.
  • Demonstrates awareness of and adherence to Company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Safety Handbook. These include, but are not limited to, Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, Business Ethics, and Anti-Harassment policies.
  • Involves occasional travel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or comparable work experience
  • Current PMP certification and ongoing maintenance of certification, or ability to achieve certification within six months
  • 7-10 years of experience as an enterprise-level Project Manager.  Solid and proven project management experience is essential.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and follow-through skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate information to various audiences including executive management
  • Proactive and creative problem-solving skills and ability to evaluate options, analyze complex problems, and present possible solutions in a simple, easily understood manner
  • Clear thinker with a structured approach to identifying and solving problems
  • Demonstrated success in implementing best practices and driving continuous process improvement by establishing and measuring key performance indicators and tracking mechanisms
  • Action oriented and both willing and able to function in a continually transforming environment
  • Has a previously demonstrated and proven track record in increasing revenue, profitability, and streamlining efficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and persuasion skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude
  • Valid driver’s license
