Senior Financial Analyst

Tyler Technologies is a leading provider of software solutions and services for the public sector. Our products are designed to help state and local governments streamline their operations and improve service to their constituents. We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. The Senior Financial Analyst will support the Public Safety team, providing financial planning and analysis support for divisional functions. They will work directly with the divisional leaders and their teams to make informed decisions that align spend towards strategic priorities. They will improve end-to-end planning processes, including but not limited to, short-term and long-term planning, periodic forecasting, ad hoc analysis, and reporting for the various divisional support teams. This position reports to the Director of Finance and is primarily remote.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and consolidating divisional annual and multiyear financial plans.
- Prepare and review analysis of monthly/quarterly/annual results versus expectations and investigate differences.
- Drive operational efficiencies by identifying and implementing process enhancements that create improved controls and profitability.
- Recommend actions based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation.
- Provide ongoing financial modeling and analysis in support of business initiatives.
- Assist Director in providing presentation ready biweekly, quarterly and annual reports to senior management including financial projections and operating performance.
- Preparation of quarterly review packages and variance analysis for external auditors.
- Prepare and facilitate distribution of financial reports to General Managers/Leadership and respond to inquiries regarding trends and variances to plan.
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting systems and reporting tools for automation of actuals, forecasting and budgeting.
- Assist in analysis during evaluation of business acquisitions.
- Ad hoc projects including relevant industry analysis or other tasks as directed.
Qualifications
- BS in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting (preferred)
- 5 years experience in financial roles, including financial planning
- Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial statements required
- Knowledge of financial concepts beyond accounting
- Expertise in MS Excel, Powerpoint
