Only current permanent Maintenance Supervisor I (Telephones) and Maintenance Supervisors II are eligible to apply

Responsibilities:
Duties will include supervising level I Maintenance Supervisors, including Professional Technical Support staff, ensuring prompt and proper emergency response, interfacing and coordinating with other departments as necessary, vendors, and escalation of service interrupting issues.
In addition, other duties include processing and distribution of incident, accident and other reports and updates as necessary. The selected candidate will be required to work off tour and operate from either of the EMD Command Centers located at the OCC or 130 Livingston Street as necessary or as directed by management.

II Salary Range:

1st Year      $112,448
2nd Year     $114,057
3rd Year      $118,067

License Requirement
A motor vehicle driver licenses valid in the State of New York with no restrictions which would preclude the performance of Maintenance Supervisor (Telephones) work. This license must be maintained for the duration of employment.

Education and Experience:

Five years of full-time satisfactory experience in the maintenance, installation and repair of telephone equipment or electrically operated alarm equipment; at least one year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of EAM
  • Broad knowledge of maintenance and repair of telephone equipment, test tools/equipment and procedures
  • Knowledge of fiber optic and PBX networks.
  • Knowledge of NYCT Rules and Regulations
  • Knowledge of TWU and SSSA Union Contracts
  • Knowledge of Operations and Safety Practices and Procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in utilizing a desktop PC and Microsoft Office Suite
