COMPENSATION

Salary Range: $75,689 - $107,430 / Grade G

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Manager, Warranty Administration administers the warranty programs for the R211 subway car procurements in accordance with the New Train Procurement Contract Terms and Conditions to provide the maximum value under the provision of such contracts.  The Manager, R211 Warranty Administration is responsible to implement established standards and warranty procedures for the Contractor, Sub-contractors, and Maintenance Shops and to act as the intermediary between CEE&TS New Car Procurement, DCE Maintenance Shops, and the Contractors in resolving technical, procedural, and contractual issues pertaining to warranty.  This position is critical to ensure that the vehicles, systems and components supplied by the Prime Contractor are fit for use or, if defective, that the New York City Transit (NYCT) will receive the extent of compensation specified in the contract terms and conditions.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

A bachelors degree in Transportation Management, Engineering or a satisfactory equivalent

AND

Ten (10) years of experience, of which three (3) years must be managerial or supervisory.

 

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of car systems, reliability, subway car manufactures, overhaul, maintenance, repair and maintaining various classes of railcar systems.
  • Knowledge of and experience with client server oracle database is essential.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Knowledge of NYCT purchasing, distribution and warranty.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
