Compensation:
Salary Range (Grade E/534): $90,590 (Min) - $128,239 (Max)
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for managing the procurement and contract administration process for the purchase of 25 Diesel-Battery (Hybrid) Locomotives, which includes an option to purchase up to an additional 45 Locomotives, as well as administration for other specialized Work Car projects within the NYCT System. Tasks include the preparation and review of all contract specifications, submittals, data analyses, drawings, equipment, and test reports to satisfy user department requirements for safe, reliable, and efficient operating equipment. Contract administration duties include conducting progress meetings, reviewing payment requests, reviewing cost and no-cost change orders, program budget management, warranty administration, and contract close-out. Additional duties include investigating opportunities for reducing long-term maintenance and operating costs.
Education and Experience:
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Engineering or a related field and seven (7) years of satisfactory related experience, and three (3) years of experience in a managerial/supervisory capacity, OR
A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Skills:
- Five years of experience in the work car/track maintenance industry.
- Knowledge of mechanical/electrical engineering and maintenance/operation relation to various specialized work equipment.
- Thorough understanding of design, testing, troubleshooting.
- Failure analysis and corrective action relative to work equipment.
- Experience with NYCT car equipment.
Selection Method:
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
