Compensation
Salary Range:
Non-represented: Min: $69,387 Max: $90,535
Note: TA Employees must be permanent in the Assistant Mechanical title in order to be eligible to be considered.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Mechanical Engineer will provide support to and assist Mechanical Engineers with all functions related to bus structure and air systems, including undercarriage, bulkhead, axle, engine, transmission, interlock, compressor, cooling, HVAC, wheelchair, etc. Engage in research, investigation, studies, or examinations related to bus functions, parts, and components to ensure compliance with specification and standards. Create and maintain technical drawings using CAD software. Write specifications, procedures and prepare estimate of quantities. Participate in other related mechanical engineering work as required.
Education and Experience
A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in mechanical engineering and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in mechanical engineering work; or
A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and a Master’s degree from an accredited college in mechanical engineering.
Desired Skills
- Must have knowledge of engineering principles applied to equipment.
- Experience in a rapid transit environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office. Proficiency in CAD Software.
