The Opportunity    
Everyday Health Pregnancy & Parenting is looking for an experienced and self-motivated Senior iOS Engineer to join the mobile team.     
We are seeking a talented individual to join our team as we embark on a modernization journey of our well-established app. The role involves modularizing the app using Swift Package Manager (SPM), transitioning to SwiftUI, and incorporating modern concurrency practices. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in MVVM, MVC, and various design patterns, coupled with substantial experience in UIKit to maintain existing features.    
This senior iOS role requires exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills, working closely with designers, product managers, QAs, backend, and data teams. The ability to effectively engage with the internal team, delegate tasks, and occasionally lead projects is essential.    
A keen eye for detail is crucial in this role. The candidate must be capable of working with teams across different time zones, making effective communication a key requirement. Prior experience in remote collaboration is highly valued.    
This position is a remote role open to candidates in the USA and Canada. The successful candidate should be able to work within one of the US time zones.    

Key Responsibilities:    
  • Implement new features using best practices.    
  • Working closely with cross functional teams and mediating between backend teams and the iOS team.    
  • Lead the effort of app modernization, and migration to SwiftUI.    
  • Design scalable and maintainable solutions to support long-term growth.    
  • Mentor junior and mid-level iOS engineers, providing guidance and support.    
  • Lead code reviews and enforce coding standards.    
  • Identify and resolve complex issues, including hard-to-reproduce crashes and bugs, ensuring robust and reliable application performance    
  • Research and implement the latest iOS technologies, frameworks, and tools to improve app quality.    
  • Oversee comprehensive testing and quality assurance efforts, including dev testing and unit testing to ensure the delivered features are free from critical defects.    

Job Qualifications:    
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience).    
  • 5+ years of experience in iOS app development.    
  • Sound knowledge of iOS development principles and best practices.    
  • Strong expertise in Swift, SwiftUI and UIKit(SwiftUI is necessary).    
  • Experience with CI/CD.    
  • Proven leadership and mentorship experience    
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.    
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.    
  • Experience in Agile methodologies, contributing to team efficiency    
Bonus points    
  • Have prior experience with improving the build time by modularization of the app, Framework development and refactoring to improve build time by parallelism    
  • Prior experience working with remotely distributed teams and navigating the associated challenges is highly desirable    
  • Experience with GraphQL.
