Ziff Davis is looking for a Network Engineer that establishes and maintains network by building and applying configurations, VPN and WAN connections, and troubleshootings network problems. Assists with assessment of network health, security, and in new design projects. Maintains backups and documentation of network environment. 

Responsibilities:
  

●  Maintains networking environment by implementing system configuration changes; assisting with systems installation; creating and maintaining documentation of environments, and assisting in the enforcement of system standards. 

●  Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; collaborating on network optimization. 

●  Maintain a secure network system by complying with established policies; defining and monitoring access in cooperation with the InfoSec team. 

●  Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating  in professional organizations. 

●  Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects.

  

Skills and Qualifications:
  

●  Problem Solving of complex logical systems encountered at enterprise scale 

●  Functional hands-on experience with varying network technologies ranging from Layer 2 VLAN, Spanning Tree, VTP to Layer 3, NAT, HSRP, eIGRP and BGP, wireless, security, and IPS/IDS (L4 / L7) platforms. 

●  Functional experience maintaining Cisco Systems and Juniper Network switches, routers, firewalls, wireless and security appliances desired 

●  Functional experience with related vendor systems and technologies: VPN gateways and clients, Nagios / Zabbix / Solarwinds monitoring, hosted and on premise telephony 

●  Experience managing both *nix and Windows servers providing DHCP, DNS, RADIUS, NAC / NAP, LDAP and Directory Services 

●  Experience working with ISP’s and their technical support / engineering departments 

●  Working knowledge of database and internet connectivity, traffic routing, shaping and load balancing. 

●  Working knowledge of Amazon AWS networking and *aaS offerings. 

●  Ability to communicate technical issues with clarity in both layman’s and technical terms within a globally diverse corporate culture 

●  Network Design and Implementation planning experience preferred 

●  Project Management skills desired

Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The base pay for this position ranges from $90,000 to $105,000 plus incentive compensation (for eligible roles only), 401K with company match, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short and long-term disability, and a flexible time off policy.
