Director of Affiliate Portfolio Growth

Ziff Media Group (ZMG) is on the hunt for an experienced affiliate revenue leader to embark on a meaningful and rewarding quest.

What you’ll do: As a ZMG Director of Affiliate Portfolio Growth you will maximize revenue by growing existing accounts as well as driving new accounts.  This is done effectively by combining  performance, branding, and licensing across the technology and shopping brands of Ziff Davis. The Director will maximize longer term, cross functionally dependent revenue in three critical ways:

        Support & Grow the Core: Responsible for identifying opportunities within existing key accounts

        Develop, Scale, & Transition New: Developing a new set of accounts that are strategically important to growing the business.

        Manage & Develop: Lead an affiliate team to help them grow and develop.  This includes hiring and onboarding new sellers and client success folks.

What will be your responsibilities?

        Develop and execute monetization strategies that create solutions to advertiser problems and maximize existing revenue

        Maximize revenue potential for top accounts across the Ziff Davis technology brands portfolio

        Oversee the Affiliate Portfolio Growth team to grow revenue, coach, train and

        Work with 10-15 named accounts

        Serve as the main point of contact for joint business plans (JBP) in order to super serve Ziff Davis’ top advertising partnerships across the tech publishing and shopping brands.

        Collaborate with Display Sales & Affiliate account teams to educate advertisers on Ziff Davis full portfolio of solutions. (Emphasis on establishing client-direct partnerships.)

        Work with BI team to identify revenue growth opportunities

        Attend client meetings to assist with pitching, objection handling and negotiation

        Maintain quarterly roadmap of Ziff Davis JBPs for existing partners and prospects.

        Create a scalable JBP process

        Develop prospect targeting requirements

        Work with Agencies and Networks to propose, negotiate and close strategic relationships

        Develop new strategic ways to monetize and engage with affiliate networks and agencies

        Create emerging business models and new packaging and approaches to working with direct partnerships or smaller affiliate networks

        Identify and scope new verticals and revenue opportunities

        Collaborate with internal Ziff Davis revenue teams including the business intelligence team to find key growth areas

        Work with internal content and product teams to road map new opportunities for partners to leverage

        Strategy for app downloads

        ROAS programs

        Non Branded search programs

        Paid social

        Omni-channel promotion (in-store, channel partners, etc)

        Develop positioning for specific categories

        Collaborate with product and editorial teams to develop new commerce content opportunities (Consumer and/or B2B brands)

        Partner with sr. leadership in due diligence related to M&A that includes affiliate commerce opportunities.

        Work cross functionally to test into new channels (Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok, etc)  and content opportunities

        Develop a subject matter expertise in platforms where commerce is developing

        Conduct tests on distributed social platforms (FB, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok)

        Proactively lead collaboration between business development, editorial and audience (SEO)

 

What does it take to do this job?

        Desire for exposure to multiple disciplines

        Understanding of technology vendor landscape

        Knowledge/experience with technology marketing

        Familiarity/acumen with business software (i.e. Salesforce, Tableau, Excel)

 

Education and Experience

        10+ years progressive experience and demonstrated success/knowledge

        5+ years managing and developing multi-discipline teams, preferably with international reach across multiple service types

        5+ years of specialized/industry experience

        Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)

        Master’s degree preferred

Note: Disclosure as required by NYCHRL, the base salary range for this role when being performed in the City of New York is $150,000- $280,000. Compensation for this business unit specific role is based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, as well as business & company performance.
