The Sales Planner plays a vital role within Ziff's Media & Affiliate Sales teams, working hand-in-hand with Account Executives and collaborating with various cross-functional teams. Together, we strive to craft meticulously crafted presale media plans that are not only accurate but also irresistibly captivating for our esteemed clients. As the plans you have created sell through, your contributions to the team extend beyond the pre-sale phase and into post-sale. Additionally, you will execute campaigns on the post-sale for smaller campaigns, allowing you to grow your post-sale knowledge in preparation for becoming a Customer Success Manager (CSM) or Account Executive (AE).
This role offers a unique career development opportunity for individuals who aspire to become Account Executives in the long term. In the Sales Planner role, you can step into the CSM position or an AE position within 18 to 24 months. Additionally, this position provides a great opportunity for someone looking to explore other departments within our exciting ad tech portfolio, such as ad operations, marketing, product marketing, and more.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with account executives, yield & inventory team and marketing staff to generate compelling custom ad programs across our product/site portfolios.
  • Own internal communication through the plan creation process
  • Build a high volume of RFP specific proposals, in both internal and external templates 
  • Recommend ad placements and content channels based on client’s campaign objectives.
  • Ensure plan due dates are met by properly managing your time and internal due dates 
  • Main point of contact for small number of post sale campaigns being managed
  • Key contributor to regular touch points with clients to deliver optimizations, reporting and overall campaign success
  • In partnership with Ad Operations partners, presents campaign performance reports to client; makes recommendations as necessary
  • Create screenshot decks, tag & asset outlines and creative requests. 
  • Research user data and audience metrics; analyzing market/category trends.

Who You Are:

  • Two years of planning experience or account management experience.
  • Creativity, especially when it comes to describing and matching our capabilities to client needs.
  • Solution oriented mentalities and hands-on learning styles
  • Communication skills. This role includes critical and meaningful  interactions with Ziff Davis colleagues. Open communication and tailoring with your team will get you far!
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite PowerPoint impresarios & Excel gurus are our favorite candidates.

Note: Disclosure as required by NYCHRL, the base salary range for this role when being performed in the City of New York is $65,000- $70,000.  Compensation for this business unit specific role is based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, as well as business & company performance.
