Description

 This is an Accounting Associate position primarily responsible for calculating sales commissions, booking payroll journal entries, reconciling payroll GL accounts, among other ad-hoc tasks.  This position supports other department functions and requires the person to have a basic understanding of these functions, how this position affects the department workflow, and be able to communicate effectively when others may be affected. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Primary responsibility is to accurately and timely calculate sales commissions monthly so the amounts can be paid to the sales team on the last payroll of each month. 
  • Coordinate and communicate with Sales team on questions that arise with their opportunities 
  • Investigate old opportunities on SalesForce report and work with Sales team to close out old/inactive opportunities. 
  • Maintain a clean and accurate SalesForce report with open opportunities. Work closely with the Sales Team’s SalesForce analyst. 
  • Book/record all payroll journal entries using reports from the payroll system 
  • Ensure 401(k) and HSA contributions are posted and reconciled timely. Maintain reconciliations that ties to the general ledger. 
  • Complete and file the monthly Dept of Revenue for WA report 
  • Complete and file the quarterly City of Renton B&O report 
  • Complete and file the quarterly Labor and Industries report 
  • Compile and review the quarterly Safe Harbor Contribution file that we send externally to our TPA 
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: 

  • Prior sales commission calculation experience preferred, but not required 
  • Prior payroll experience preferred, but not required 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including strong Excel skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. 
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Excellent attendance. 
  • Good critical thinking skills, logical and curious. 
  • Detail oriented and organized. 
  • Strong email skills.  Able to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts. 
  • Good work attitude, adaptable, with multi-tasking abilities.
