About the Role:
 
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing employee payroll, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining detailed payroll records. You'll manage tax withholdings, deductions, and compliance with payroll regulations. Additionally, you'll troubleshoot and resolve any payroll-related issues, contributing to the smooth financial operations of our company.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Accurately calculate and process monthly salaries, bonuses, and other compensation for employees in compliance with Bulgarian labour laws and company policies.
  • Ensure timely payment of salaries and related contributions (e.g., social security, health insurance, income tax) to the appropriate authorities.
  • Ensure that payroll reflects the correct compensation for employees based on their shift schedules, summarized working time, and legal requirements.
  • Track and document employee absences, including sick leave, paid leave, and unpaid leave.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including personal data, salary history, benefits, and deductions.
  • Update and manage employee records to reflect changes in employment status, such as new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary adjustments.
  • Ensure accurate calculation and processing of benefits such as health insurance, sports cards, and other perks.
  • Regularly work with the payroll system to reflect any changes to employee data, tax rates, or legal requirements.
  • Address and resolve any payroll-related issues or discrepancies that arise, providing support and answers to employee inquiries.
  • Investigate and rectify payroll errors in a timely manner to prevent future discrepancies.
  • Assist in the implementation of recommendations related to payroll processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll data and employee information, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
What Makes You a Strong Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent command of English (at least B2 level).
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Understanding of HR processes, labor laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Good Microsoft Office (especially Excel) skills; able to work with and identify which formulas to use for the desired results and efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Proactive attitude, self-motivated, ambitious, and adaptable to change.
  • Detail-oriented and inquisitive, responsible.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
