Overview: We are seeking a candidate who is knowledgeable and capable of supporting the leadership of a Non-Public Special Education School in Alhambra, CA. The School’s focus is on supporting the needs of students with a variety of disabilities in addition to social, emotional, and behavioral challenges which impact their ability to be served outside of a structured, therapeutic environment. The Behavior Interventionists administer discipline-specific treatment for children with developmental delays, including autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The Behavior Interventionist facilitates behavior programs based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), conducts behavior assessments, and functions as an Assessor when needed.
Reports to: School Director, Executive Director, or Regional Director

 

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
Supervise implementation of behavioral management model
Ongoing and regular consultation with staff on appropriate application
Modify behavioral management as needed

 Train staff on behavioral management model
Provide behavior orientation to new staff and train in physical management procedure
Provide in-service training on behavioral management model
Provide ongoing training for clinical staff

Supervise Behavior Support staff
Monitor testing and IEP
Assist in crisis intervention and behavioral management planning
Coordinate psycho-educational assessment schedule

Provide a range of Behavioral services
Conduct FBA/ FAA’s
Develop BSP’s & BIP’s in collaboration w/ IEP Team
Collect Behavioral Data

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Behavior Interventionist Qualifications, Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required in Psychology or closely related field strongly preferred
Behavior Analyst Certification (BCBA) or enrolled in a program (INTERN)
Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) is preferred.
Experience conducting skill and behavioral assessments (VB-MAPP, AFLS, Vineland, Essentials for Living, FBA, etc.)
Expertise in development of skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs

 


OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must understand that all children can learn. Must demonstrate positive and enthusiastic attitude toward internal and external customers. Must be flexible. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred. Must be available to work during the summer months.

 

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Light lifting, walking, climbing stairs. Most programs are in school settings.

 

The Company provides all classroom and instructional materials as well prepared lesson plans and paid training. Continued instructional and leadership support for all employees is also provided.

 

SALARY

Exprerience will determin salary.

$50,000-$65,000
