About Us   

NewHope Academy is operated by Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI). SESI Schools provide specialized education programming for K-12 students who require additional educational and positive behavioral supports to overcome challenges that impede success in a traditional school setting.   

The Opportunity    

The Social Worker will be responsible for providing social-emotional services for students who require additional support to thrive in school. They will deliver high-quality services as provided by SESI and collaborate with both school personnel and families as an integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team. Every child deserves to reach their full potential and we’re looking to hire an exceptional team member who will play an essential role in fueling student success.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities   

Include the following. Other duties as assigned.   

        Conduct weekly individual therapy sessions for caseload    

        Schedule regular evening hours, one night a month, for family therapy of caseload    

        Maintain regular contact with families of caseload through emails, phone calls, and family therapy   

        Record all therapy sessions and phone contacts with those who are involved with the caseload in TeacherEase   

        Attend weekly clinical seminars   

        Attend weekly supervision/consultation with supervisor    

        Review cognitive/achievement testing and social/emotional testing with parents and students   

        Attend all IEP meetings of caseload     

        Monitor and document the progress of IEP goals   

        Complete quarterly IEP goals in a timely manner   

        Complete necessary components for IEP goals including any reports and goals in a timely manner   

  • Provide supervisor reports and goals for review one week in advance of meeting
  • Provide crisis management to those students in need during the school day at specifically scheduled times

        Additional Therapy duties and expectations are identified in the job description and any written policies for the Employee’s position and also may be assigned to Employee by the Clinical Director throughout the school year.     

    

  • The Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in social work or human services related field (mental health, psychology, counseling)
  • Professional licensure including  LPC or LCPC, LCSW or LMSW, and LMFT, Ph.d, Psy.d
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a school, special education, or behavior health setting working with children and adolescents is preferred
