Fort Collins Veterinary Emergency is looking to add a full-time Credentialed Veterinary Technician Manager to their team!   
  
As a Veterinary Technician Manager, you’ll play an important role in pets lives by providing care for our precious patients. We are a 24/7/365 hospital and the technician manager is expected to be familiar with workflow on all shifts, and will regularly work a mix of clinical and admin hours making up a 40-hour work week  
Role Responsibilities:  
  • Providing top-notch nursing care as a Veterinary Technician on the floor in our Emergency Department
  • Maintaining a positive work environment 
  • Managing the technician and assistant team 
  • Following and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures
  • Creating and maintaining the technician and assistant work schedules 
  • Leading monthly clinical meetings 
  • Reviewing staff time sheets 
  • Overseeing the Inventory Manager role (filled by another team member) 
  • Overseeing the Training Lead role (filled by another team member) 
  • Recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of employees in collaboration with the PM 
  • Staff evaluations and progressive discipline as needed 
  • Represent and advocate for the technical team at leadership meetings 
  • Other leadership duties as assigned 
Experience & Skills Requirements:    
  • Required an active LVT/RVT or CVT
  • Has a minimum of 5 years of clinical veterinary technician experience with direct patient care
  • Has experience in Emergency and Critical Care or Specialty medicine (a plus!)
  • Has supervisory/leadership experience
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Superior technical skills
  • Familiar with common disease processes that present to emergency service with an understanding of treatments and medications associated with their care.
  • Strong medical math skills. (Including being able to calculate fluid rate, common CRI’s and multimodal drug infusion.)
  • Able to obtain Blood pressure, ECG, Sp02, and ETC02 and integrate clinical signs with disease processes to assist doctors in early and appropriate intervention of patient care.
  • Comfortable utilizing digital radiography machines to acquire images using proper technique and positioning.
  • Prepare animals and instruments for surgery
  • Provide surgical assistance and post-operative care
  • Administer medications, and treatments prescribed by a veterinarian
  • Possesses a positive work attitude

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $26-$30/ hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
