GRAIN AND INGREDIENT MERCHANDISER

Nature of Position:
The Grain & Ingredient Merchant is responsible for grain merchandising, toll mill ingredient pricing, and managing farmer/producer marketing programs. This role also includes supporting process improvement initiatives and integrating technology into business operations. The position offers growth opportunities through ownership of projects and processes
Essential Functions:

- Originate corn for all the company owned mills.
- Help manage the logistics of corn at all company owned mills.
- Assist with origination and pricing of corn to toll mills.
- Set cash bids daily to support grain departments’ bias on basis direction
- Perform risk management functions related to grain hedging.
- Develop and execute strategies to manage spread risk of in-house grain.
- Monitor DPR and to-arrive daily to ensure futures risk position is neutral
- Provide grain marketing services to both producers and commercial customers.
- Assist in purchasing soft ingredients for company-owned and toll mills
- Support logistics of soft ingredients into all relevant facilities.
- Ensure company grain records comply with state grain auditor requirements.
- Provide support to the grain accounting team regarding accounts receivable, settlements, and payables.
- Collaborate effectively with employees across the Grain, Milling, and Production departments.
- Maintain up-to-date commodity pricing for the nutrition team monthly and during major price fluctuations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications:
- Bachelors of science degree in Agriculture, Business or Finance
- Maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) as determined by JBS.
- Available to be on call 24/7 year-round, excluding vacation.
- Proficient in English, both oral and written communication.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, including overnight stays.
- Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons.
- Commitment to safe work practices.
