Cage Repair Job Description

The selected individual will be responsible for repairing and maintaining live haul cages and keeping a daily log of maintenance performed. In addition, the job responsibilities will include monitoring the live haul shed (fans and foggers) and daily washing and inspecting of the forklifts (Moffett’s). The following is expected to be performed daily:
 
MOFFETT’S
•    Check engine oil & look for leaks
•    Check coolant & look for leaks
•    Fuel (do not overfill) use specified fuel key for each loader
•    Blow out radiator & hydraulic cooler ( do not pressure wash)
•    Check hydraulic level and leaks ( make sure hydraulic fan is running)
•    Grease slides and oil chains
•    Check tires for low pressure, damage, & change if needed
•    Check wheels for cracks and missing wheel nuts
•    Check all cylinder pins and tighten pin bolts. Replace if broken/missing
•    Insure that back up alarm and safety lights are functioning
•    Insure safety flags are not broken/missing. Replace if needed
•    Check over for damage
•    Check lights & light cords replace if needed
Moffett’s need to be greased once per week on a set schedule.
 
LIVE HAUL
•    Periodically checked for cleanliness and area be power washed when needed
•    Change flat tires when needed
•    Change mud flaps when needed
•    Replace broken glad hands 
•    Replace lights on trailer
•    Wash trailers if no Moffett’s to wash 
 
Other job responsibilities may be given as the need arises.
