HR Compliance Manager

 

 

The HR Compliance Manager will work directly with the Head of HR Compliance for the development and implementation of industry-specific and comprehensive HR compliance policy and programs for the company. This position will assist in the evaluation of applicable laws and regulations while serving as a business partner to senior leadership to identify, propose, and implement necessary actions to mitigate risk and to prevent, detect, and correct noncompliance.

 

Location: This position will report onsite at our Corporate HQ in Greeley, CO.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provides general management and ad hoc support of company HR policies and procedures, including immigration, ADA, AAP, EEO, FMLA, OFCCP, and other federal, state, and local compliance programs.
  • Serves as the organization’s subject matter expert on U.S. immigration compliance, with a primary focus on employment eligibility verification and Form I‑9 administration.
  • Coordinates business and administrative units on priority compliance issues, including risk identification, assessment, and mitigation; policy development and implementation; and HR personnel training.
  • Conducts internal Form I‑9 audits and self‑assessments, identifies errors or compliance gaps, implements corrective actions, and recommends process improvements to mitigate risk.
  • Provides guidance and training to HR staff, managers, and recruiters on Form I‑9 completion, reverification, document retention, and inspection readiness.
  • Monitors and interprets changes in immigration laws, regulations, and agency guidance (including DHS, USCIS, and ICE) and translates requirements into compliant policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Partners with Legal, Compliance, and business stakeholders during government audits, inspections, or inquiries related to Form I‑9s or employment authorization.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of company affirmative action programs; files EEO‑1 and VETS‑4212 reports annually; and maintains other required records, reports, and logs to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Facilitates and oversees the company’s annual HR Compliance audit, providing gap‑analysis feedback and action planning; conducts periodic audits of systems, procedures, policies, and workflows to ensure legal compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Drives the identification, reporting, and analysis of relevant measures of human resource performance and collaborates with the HR leadership team on analysis and action planning.
  • Participates in HR IT, HRIS, and vendor status meetings for issue resolution and evaluation of system enhancements or upgrades related to compliance and data integrity.
  • Assists the Head of HR Compliance in conducting and administering internal HR compliance activities and corporate reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of progressive HR Generalist or HR Compliance experience, with demonstrated responsibility for regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in U.S. immigration compliance, with a strong emphasis on Form I‑9 administration, audits, and correction standards.
  • In‑depth working knowledge of IRCA requirements, DHS regulations, and ICE audit processes, including enforcement trends and best practices for risk mitigation.
  • Proven experience conducting internal compliance audits, developing remediation plans, and supporting organizations through external audits or inspections.
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to assess compliance risk and recommend practical, compliant solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex regulatory and immigration requirements to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, influence others, mediate conflict, and take decisive action.
  • Superior organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Highly preferred: Full bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, with the ability to accurately interpret, translate, and communicate complex regulatory, policy, and employee‑relations information across a diverse employee population.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $90,000 - $110,000;
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and
