JOB DESCRIPTION
 
Position Title:      PRODUCTION FLOOR TRAINER                   
Department:        Human Resources        
Location:             Greeley, CO Value Added Plant
Salary Class:        Salary Non-Exempt
         
JBS is seeking a salary non-exempt Production Floor Trainer! Position starts at $25.75 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   
  • Orientation Introductions: develop & promote a positive working environment
  • Pre-Employment Plant Tours & Job Safety Walks
    • Issue equipment & lockers to new hires
    • Measure equipment for Knife Skilled team members – PPE explanation
  • New Hire Support: trainer will be someone for the new hire to lean on & go to for questions / help if the supervisor is busy
  • On the Job Training: the trainer will be responsible for showing the new hire their position, explaining the WHY, & assisting in their role until the new hire can do the job 100% on their own
    • Examples: GMPs, specifications, shrink, yields, safety procedures
    • Familiarize new hires with the facilities: clocking in/out, break times, HR functions, etc.
    • Cross-Train employees as needed
  • Qualification: trainer will be responsible for collaborating with the Supervisor and filling out evaluations for New Hires & Job Bidders on a weekly basis
    • Turn into HR at 15/25/30 day marks
    • Issue white hats
  • Collaborate with production for any filling or paperwork that needs completed & to HR
  • Job to Training Courses: trainer will be knowledgeable of which jobs require job specific alchemy training & assure those are completed before going to the floor
  • Facilitate observation courses such as Power Industrial Truck & Lock-Out Tag Out
  • Schedule & Set-Up Annual Alchemy Retraining
  • Schedule training classes & present classes as needed Facilitate Knife Skilled Classes
  • Lead Stretches with New Hires
  • Translator: translate for HR, Occ. Health, or Managers during meetings as needed
  • Job Safety Analysis’
  • Build new trainings in conjunction with HR as needed
  • Supervisor/Manager Daily Safety Inspection / TNG Form – (FELT process) 1-per department (VA, Grinds, Shipping, MTC) daily
  • Leadership Daily Safety Inspection Form 1-per shift
  • Supervisor Weekly Touch N Go (TNG) Form - (FELT Process) 5-per week
  • Assist Safety Department with administrative needs
  • PPE Checks (documented) 1-per shift
  • Other duties as assigned
 
 
Qualifications: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Be able to communicate written and verbally in English
  • Be able to work shifts as needed
  • Heavy lifting required
  • Able to work in cold temperatures
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Self-Motivated / High Sense of urgency
  • Able to perform under High Stress situations
  • Must be Bilingual
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Meat industry experience preferred
 
 
Work Environment:
The work environment may include cold and/or hot temperatures, fast-paced setting, and exposure to various chemicals, machinery, and knives. Can further include slippery floors and loud noises.
