Who are we looking for?
- This position is ideal for a writer with a programming background and/ or strong technical skill set.
- To be successful in this position you must be comfortable with reading code.
- Familiarity with one (or more) of the following languages is preferred: Python, Javascript, .NET/C# or C++.
- Familiarity with observability and/or monitoring solutions for IT systems is a plus.
- Many of our products have open source components or use open source components that Splunk contributes to, for example, OpenTelemetry. This position gives you a chance to contribute to the open source products as part of your job.
- You should enjoy working on a variety of projects and be able to quickly gain the technical proficiency needed to contribute independently.
- You should have the technical background required to engage directly with software engineers, product managers, and knowledgeable power users of Splunk software.
- You must be collaborative, curious, and persistent with a proactive approach to delivering results.
- You must be comfortable working in an Agile environment and tracking the work of multiple scrum teams throughout the software development and release cycle.
- Write clear and accurate English-language documentation that enables customers to use and manage Splunk software effectively and efficiently.
- Integrate quickly with new scrum teams to learn their subject matter and build productive working relationships.
- Independently plan, manage, and deliver documentation for Splunk supported add-ons, connectors, and products developed in the Krakow office.
- Work closely with agile development teams, product managers, and designers to define documentation requirements and produce customer-facing docs.
- Discuss technical details and solve problems with engineers, customer support reps, technical writers, and customers every day.
- Follow an established style guide and work with editors to create the best possible documentation for customers.
- Respond directly to user feedback in email and Slack and integrate user suggestions to continuously improve your documentation.
What you’ll bring:
- 3-5+ years experience writing documentation for enterprise software or open source products, preferably experience writing for similar technologies.
- Ability to manage time and priorities in a dynamic development environment at a fast-paced company.
- Degree in Computer Science or related field, or relevant professional experience.
- Experience drafting and publishing content.
- Samples that showcase your best work.

Base Pay Range
Poland
Base Pay: PLN 132,000.00 - 181,500.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
