Role
Responsibilities
- Opportunity to drive complex deployments of Splunk’s Observability suite, working side by side with the customers to resolve their unique problems.
- Serve as an inspiring leader and engage with leading experts to co-develop innovative approaches that redefine how customers manage, monitor, and analyse their infrastructure, applications, and business services
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Technical Enablement, Education, and Support to enhance product offerings and service delivery
- Enable customers to solve the next wave of questions on their own.
- Maintain consistent engagement with all organisational levels, from executive leadership (C-suite) to technical staff (Developers and Site Reliability Engineers), ensuring strategic alignment and operational execution
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring solutions meet immediate requirements and align with long-term strategic goals
- Lead the full lifecycle of Splunk solution adoption, from initial integration to ongoing optimisation, ensuring seamless functionality within client business architectures
- Commit to continuous professional development to keep abreast of the latest Splunk products, technological advancements, and industry best practices

Requirements
- 5+ years of current experience in Application Performance Monitoring (APM) Implementations or Observability Sales Engineering
- Experience with implementing APM software with one or more of the following products: Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace or AppDynamics
- Proficiency and demonstrable understanding in at least 2 of the following programming languages: Java, .NET, PHP, Ruby, Python, Node.JS, Objective-C, Java-Dalvik
- 3+ years of current experience working with container orchestration, i.e. Kubernetes and Docker
- 3+ years of current experience working with Cloud IaaS providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure
- Experience with enterprise monitoring systems i.e. Nagios, Elastic and Splunk
- Experience with serverless functions i.e AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions, Azure Functions
- Experience with automation/orchestration tools, at least two of the following: Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform
- Experience with both the Unix and Windows operating systems; comfortable on the command line interface
- Experience developing technical documentation to include architecture diagrams, user guides, white papers or product manuals
- Familiarity with Agile work management and/or the ability to effectively communicate sophisticated processes within and across teams
- Strong open systems application and infrastructure knowledge
- Organised with a healthy sense of urgency, able to set; communicate, and meet aggressive deadlines with competing priorities
- Ability to quickly explore, examine and understand complex problems and how they relate to the customer’s business
- Highly collaborative team player who thrives on an impactful, innovative team
- Experience successfully leading global end-to-end process and technology transformation projects
- Self-motivated and self-educating, always interested in keeping up with technology and improving oneself
- Knowledge of Splunk administration or statistical and analytical modelling
- Willing to travel up to 30% across the region when circumstances permit.

Base Pay Range
Australia
Base Pay: AUD 160,000.00 - 220,000.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
