Role:
As a Software Engineer in the Observability AI group, you will play a key role in developing full-stack applications to enhance Splunk's Observability product portfolio. Your work will help empower our customers on their journey to achieving digital resilience. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to shaping the engineering roadmap for this critical area.

What you'll do:
- Collaborate with product owners and designers to iterate on the design and implementation of our products. As a full stack developer, you will be expected to participate in development of both frontend and backend systems.
- Break down product requirements and/or complex technical tasks into sprint size units and estimate the work.
- Participate in end-to-end architecture reviews and discussions with the broader team, playing an influential role in overall product design
- Design testable software, compose test plans and automate test cases while making necessary improvements to test frameworks.
- Hands on development of product features keeping subsystem reusability, modularity, and high scale as part of design
- Participate in on-call rotations, post-incident reviews, and other operational duties as needed to ensure stable service delivery
Requirements:
- Professional experience developing backend applications using Java and/or Python
- Experience with RESTful web services
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of NoSQL or document-oriented databases is a plus
- Experience with web frameworks such as React or Angular
- Solid knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Strong understanding of CI/CD principles, tools, and version control systems
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in a relevant field with at least 3+ years of industry experience.

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $146,400.00 - 201,300.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $131,760.00 - 181,170.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $117,120.00 - 161,040.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
