Business Planner II
Description
Support the CCD Tariff Team in tariff impact mitigation, tariff reporting, customer allocation, available benefit tracking, government refund tracking and tariff related business planning activities.
This position is allocated 70% to CCD and 30% to Wiring Harness Planning, with direction from the CCD Tariff Team Assistant Manager and CCD General Manager. The position may be located at the Detroit office or El Paso office.
The role also supports Wiring Harnes Planning budgeting activities and assists with training and execution of detail recurring tariff reporting tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare or support tariff impact reports for Expeditors/GPP, Rudolph Miles/Mexico, UPS/GPP, YUSEN/GPP, and other assigned categories.
- Support monthly tariff impact P&L analysis, including occurrence, customer pass-though, rebate, refund, and net impact.
- Allocate tariff impact by customer, broker, origin, HTS code, country of origin, and other required categories.
- Complete assigned monthly reporting during business day 1–5 timing.
- Collect and review broker data, ACE data, Form 7501 data, invoice data, packing list data, ASN data, and other tariff related information.
- Validate key tariff calculation factors, including country of origin, HTS code, import value, duty rate, and duty amount, and additional tariff category.
- Identify gaps, discrepancies, or timing issues and escalate as required.
- Support daily Section 232 credit application activity for Expeditors, Rudolph Miles, UPS, and other applicable brokers.
- Track Section 232 credit amounts, application status, supporting data, and unresolved issues.
- Support weekly FY25 PSC progress tracking and FY25 IEEPA progress tracking assigned.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, KPMG, overseas affiliates, sales, business units, corporate business planning, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare tariff impact analysis and supporting data for sales business units to support customer recovery discussions.
- Maintain action logs, open items lists, and reporting files.
- Support standardization of reporting templates, checklist, work instructions, and tracking files.
- Identify manual workload reduction opportunities and assist with reporting/system improvement.
- Support Wiring Harnes Business Planning activities, including P1, P2, P3, and P4 budgeting activities.
- Assist in training and guiding the Logistics Planner III in recruiting tariff reporting and tracking activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CCD General Manager or CCD Tariff Team Assistant Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, accounting, finance, international trade, field preferred.
- Experience in business planning, logistics, customs compliance, tariff reporting, finance, or data analysis preferred.
- Working knowledge of import activity, broker documentation, CBP Form 7501, HTS codes, country of origin, import value, duty calculation, and tariff recovery preferred.
- Strong Excel skills required; reporting tools such as Smartsheet. Power BI, Access, SQL, or similar tools preferred.
- Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and reconcile data from brokers, internal systems, overseas affiliates, and internal departments.
- Strong communication, follow-up, documentation, and deadline management skills.
- Ability to support monthly business day 1-5 reporting, daily support, and weekly tracking processes.
- 3-5 years progressive professional business accounting/finance experience.
