Construction Technician
Description
- Graduate of Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineer is an advantage
- With at least 1 year experience in construction, with COSH and BOSH certificate an advantage
- Safety and Health oriented
- Key functions include interpreting blueprints, inspecting work for quality and safety compliance, operating equipment, and performing maintenance on electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Key Job Functions:
- Site Preparation & Management: Setting up job sites, ensuring compliance with OSHA and environmental safety regulations, and managing materials.
- Technical Inspection & Surveys: Conducting site surveys, measuring elevations, using GPS/total stations, and verifying materials meet specifications.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Reviewing schematics and technical drawings to guide project execution.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operating light/heavy equipment (e.g., excavators) and performing preventative maintenance on tools.
- Support & Supervision: Assisting skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, masons) and documenting construction progress through reports.
- Quality Control: Performing tests (e.g., air/slump tests on concrete) to ensure compliance with project standards.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of construction materials, building codes, and safety protocols.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills for documentation, including CAD/AutoCAD.
