Technical Sales Engineer
Description
SEI Australia Pty Ltd is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to support our operations. The position is located in Thomastown, VIC (hybrid).
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify new business opportunities and expand the existing client base.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams.
- Support the development and execution of sales strategies.
- Prepare proposals, tenders, and quotations.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals to meet sales targets.
- Conduct needs analysis to understand customer challenges.
- Deliver pre-sales technical expertise, presentations, and product demonstrations.
- Simplify complex technical information for non-technical audiences.
- Provide post-sales support, including system deployment, training, and troubleshooting.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients.
- Gather customer feedback to improve existing products and inform new development.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Strong technical background in IT or telecom infrastructure.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency (unrestricted work rights required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in optical communication products or fiber optic technology.
- Familiarity with Japanese business culture
- Previous experience in technical sales or business development within the telecom or IT industry.
- Ability to travel interstate or internationally when required.
