Product Manager - Data Platform (Indexing & Storage)

What you'll get to do
- Own the whole product experience for your area.
- Engage with customers, develop insights into what is possible, and uncover unarticulated needs to ensure customer success.
- Build product roadmaps based on customers' needs, including market and technology forces.
- Define product specifications, user stories, mockups, and acceptance criteria independently and in collaboration with engineering.
- Interact and collaborate with Support, NOC, and field teams to understand customer issues and drive business outcomes.
- Collaborate with Engineering, SRE, and release teams to plan, drive and execute product release cycles.
- Collaborate with product marketing to support the creation of content
Must have qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a technical product manager
- Experience as a Product Manager in building core platform technology for unstructured, structured, and semi-structured data processing and storage
- Familiarity with cloud services, batch/stream data processing, data storage formats, high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Strong sense of product ownership & customer empathy to care deeply about customer problems and the user experience.
- Analytical thinking skills and a data-informed approach to decision-making.
- Collaborative, with strong communication skills, including the ability to translate sophisticated technical products and features into simple concepts and presentations
- Ability to define user stories in collaboration with the Design and Engineering teams
Nice to have Qualifications:
- Experience building data platform products with a focus on data processing, cloud storage, high availability, performance, and scalability.
- Strong bias for action, creative thinking, innovation, and data-informed product decision-making.
- Operate and think in terms of the business outcome, end-user experience, the underlying technology stack to drive those experiences and outcomes
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure and agile software development
- Passion for understanding end-to-end business workflows and building enterprise products with intuitive user experience.
Education:
- BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science or related major

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $133,600.00 - 183,700.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $120,240.00 - 165,330.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $106,880.00 - 146,960.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
