Pilgrim’s wants YOU to join our Hatchery Management Team as a Hatchery Supervisor!  The salary for this position is $60,000 - $65,000 per year, based on education and experience. Benefits include:

POSITION SUMMARY
: The Hatchery Supervisor is responsible for the safety, efficiency, and overseeing the hatchery team members, as well as, scheduling deliveries and equipment.  He/She is also responsible for assisting the production manager in all production needs in order to meet the divisional goals and standards.
    
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Supervises and completes performance appraisals for all team members under his/her supervision according to the Pilgrim’s personnel policies and divisional guidelines. 
  • Conducts one-on-ones, team huddles and go and see walks with Hatchery team members.
  • Responsible for filling -in during the absence of the Hatchery Manager and is certified (or willing to obtain certification) for vaccine mixing and inovoject operations (Independence only).
  • Responsible for the weekly time and attendance on the Kronos and fills out the weekly inventory information on the M‐Tech/SAP system.
  • Responsible for scheduling all production team members on a weekly basis, including factors such as production rotation, shift rotation and weekend transfer crew and communicates schedule.   
  • Responsible for the scheduling, setting and projection of eggs/hatch as well as managing egg and chick inventory.
  • Trains new team members and observes and enforces all company personnel, safety, quality and food safety policies.
  • Assists the maintenance dept. when needed.
  • Responsible for managing all DOT hatchery drivers, ensuring DOT compliance.
  • Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to rotate manager on call schedule for weekends and be able to rotate completing an egg set over the weekend when egg supply dictates completing a set sheet with use of Saturday egg pick-ups.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
  • College degree is preferred.
  • 2 years of related experience required.
  • Class A CDL preferred or willing to obtain (Arcadia only).
  • Flexibility with schedule required (weekend/afternoon work).
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good project management experience.
  • Good leadership experience and people skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office suite.
