POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Evis Sorter is responsible to accurately inspect all birds for any issues requiring follow up by USDA or Pilgrim’s Leadership
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Ability to monitor the Auto Transfer Table lines and keep the shackles full on both lines while identifying and removing Septic birds.
  • Ability to sort birds at a rate of 35+ BPM.
  • Gizzard Table – Ability to sort, identify and remove yellow peel, identifying injesta and bile contaminated gizzards at a rate of 210 gizzards per minute.
  • Salvage – Ability to properly salvage, vacuum and was birds per FSQA requirements.
  • Ability to perform Final Trim by identifying and removing undesired defects.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Leadership and Process Control concerning any flock, bird, or equipment issues.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Develops and maintains a working relationship with USDA personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Flexibility to work in changing environment and adjust to various production demands.
  • May be asked to rotate to positions between departments or positions.
  • Processes product using tools and equipment provided in accordance with USDA and Pilgrim’s product standards and procedures.
  • Apply proper personal hygiene and hand washing.
  • Process product according to operating procedures and quality/quantity expectations.

  • Ability to stand and use a knife for 8-to-10-hour shifts.
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Capable of learning and remembering product specifications.
  • Good hand and eye coordination.
  • Analytical skills preferred on an intermediate level.
  • Food or production experience preferred.
