Associate Category Manager – Retail Deli

 

 

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: The Category Assistant in the Retail Deli business unit is a critical support role, assisting the Category Manager with P&L tracking, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to drive category growth and profitability. This position supports the execution of category strategies by analyzing product performance, coordinating cross-functional activities, and managing key day-to-day tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses strong analytical skills, and demonstrates a keen interest in category management within the food industry.

 

This position is based on-site at our corporate office in Greeley, CO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Category Manager in monitoring P&L activities to drive profitability and category growth.
  • Conduct data analysis on product performance, sales trends, and pricing, creating reports and insights to guide category decisions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Category Development, Brand, Supply Chain, and Operations to support category initiatives.
  • Prepare materials for client presentations, including product information, data insights, and samples.
  • Manage new product development and timelines to support GTM strategies.
  • Assist in managing product and pricing data, ensuring accuracy across systems and customer channels.
  • Provide administrative support, such as managing documentation, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (Marketing, Economics, Business, Statistics, or related field preferred).
  • Experience:
    • Previous marketing experience preferred.
    • Experience within CPG Foodservice or Proteins preferred. 
    • Experience working with sales and customer presentations.
    • Excellent communication, networking, collaboration, and relationship building.
    • Strong analytical, consultative, and problem-solving skills.
    • Organized and strong planner.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Understanding of reporting tools and concepts.
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $85,000 - $105,000;
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and
