ONBOARDING SUPERVISOR  

JOB SUMMARY  

This position will support Human Resources and Operations in overseeing the orientation and onboarding  

of all new hires. The Onboarding Supervisor supervises Onboarding Coordinators and evaluates the  

effectiveness of training, coaching of best practices, and maintains all documentation for training  

purposes. In addition, the Onboarding Supervisor will supervise the Orientation Trainer in ensuring that all  

onboarding courses, floor training, and documentation is completed. The Onboarding Supervisor is  

required to spend 65% of their time on the production floor overseeing the training efforts of Onboarding  

Coordinators, conducting observations of Coordinators and new hires, and holding one-on-ones with all  

new hires in the program. This position is responsible for evaluating new team members using  

independent judgment, helping them meet goals related to workplace safety, food safety/quality, and  

production requirements. As a member of management, the Onboarding Supervisor is required to achieve  

human resources and facility objectives, and must be able to direct, train, assign, and coach new  

coordinators and new team members to successfully perform the assigned job duties. The Onboarding  

Supervisor develops action plans and oversees retention programs at the plant level and reports to the  

Human Resources Manager. The Onboarding Supervisor is responsible for implementing and enforcing  

company work rules, GMPs, and policies, including recommending corrective action and discipline for  

employees under their supervision and training.

Previous training experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES  

Administer, track, and evaluate all New Hire Orientation and Onboarding training in accordance and  

compliance with the People Pillar  

Supervise new hires during the training period and make recommendations to management and/or  

Human Resources regarding training needs, concerns and continued employment.  

Coaches Onboarding Coordinators to conduct structured on-the-job training for new and current  

employees  

Motivates, coaches, corrects, and challenges Onboarding Coordinators, Orientation Trainers and new  

hires with a positive approach  

Maintains highest level of confidentiality with respect to both information about employees and the  

Company.  

Ensures proper methods are followed for production and safety, and adapts training and performance  

improvement plans according to each employee’s skills and experience and the Company’s retention  

goals.  

Maintains an engaged and team-oriented Onboarding Team leading by example and acting in the  

interests in the Company.  

Communicates issues or concerns with Production Supervisors, Superintendents, Shift Manager, and  

Plant Management as needed.  

Ensures all Onboarding Coordinators are training according to job skills assessments and SOPs and  

determines when new Team Members are ready for the next step in their employment.  

Answers questions and inquiries that require comprehensive knowledge of departmental procedures,  

operations, and human resources programs.  

Needs a complete understanding of effective training and educational methods for a production  

operation.  

Manage the Onboarding Team schedule and assess staffing needs. Provides leadership through goal  

setting, delegation, and communication. Assists with decisions including hiring, terminations, and  

promotions.  

Drives Team Member retention by demonstrating and implementing Company values and policies,  

including monitoring and tracking all new hires’ performance and development during their initial 60  

days of employment.  

Supports new Team Members by maintaining a presence on the production floor, serving as primary  

point of contact for them for direction and assignments, and meeting all new Team Members on a  

daily basis to assess their skills development.  

Attends regular management and human resources meetings.  

Creates, maintains, and verifies evaluation criteria for new hires. Regularly evaluate Team Members  

based on that criteria for initial SOP certification or SOP re-certification  

Record, document, maintain and analyze training progression files to compile reports for management  

teams.
