Pet Emergency & Specialty Center East is seeking an experienced Client Service Representative to join our Avian and Exotics & Emergency and Critical Care teams.

**Veterinary field experience is required for this role. 
 
As a Client Service Representative, you play an integral role within the hospital. The Client Service Representative is responsible for a variety of tasks related to customer service and patient care within the hospital. As an ambassador for our clients, your main focus is to ensure that our client’s needs are met in a timely manner while demonstrating a sincere compassion for our clients and patients. You are the liaison between the client and the doctor and medical staff and are responsible for maintaining a smooth and efficient workflow between the front office and the technical staff. This role will be scheduled in both our Avian and Exotics specialty department and our Emergency and Critical Care department.
 
Hourly Wage: $20-$23/hr depending on experience and skillset
PESC East has the following shift differentials:
  • 7pm-11pm- $1.50 hr
  • 11pm-7am- $4.00 hr
  • Sat & Sun days 7am-7pm- $1.00 hr
 
Schedule: 10 hour shifts
 
Shift: Must have availability Friday and Saturday
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Greet clients and their pets with prompt professionalism and courtesy
  • Enter/Update client information in the practice management system
  • Admit incoming patients
  • Present treatment plans
  • Invoice for services by receiving and processing payments
  • Communicate regularly with clients and rescue groups
  • Discharge outgoing patients
  • Schedule and confirm appointments and rechecks
  • Accurately take client payments
  • Maintain all aspects of work place organization and cleanliness
  • Answer incoming phone calls and coordinate client call backs
  • Scan and file medical records
  • Fax/E-mail information to client and primary veterinarian medical staff
  • Facilitate obtaining medical records from primary referring veterinarians office
  • Obtain client signatures on corresponding legal forms
  • Perform other duties as assigned
 
Key Qualifications
 
  • 3 years experience in the veterinary field is required for this role
  • Vet Assistant experience preferred
  • Knowledge of exotic species preferred
  • Willingness to cross train to assist in other PESC departments, if needed
  • Can work collectively with team members
