Registered Veterinary Technician - Nephrology/Dialysis
$2,500 Sign on bonus available for experienced Veterinary Technicians!

As a Nephrology/Dialysis Veterinary Technician, you will play a key role in our nephrology team by:

- Supporting Diagnostic Procedures: Assist veterinarians in conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests such as urinalysis, blood tests, and imaging to assess kidney function and overall health.
- Participate in the management, monitoring and treatment of any dialysis case in a progressive, high-quality manner.
- Administering Treatments: Manage and monitor fluid therapy, medications, and other nephrology-specific treatments, ensuring the safety and comfort of our patients.
- Patient Monitoring: Closely observe and document patients’ vital signs and responses to treatment, adjusting as needed to achieve the best outcomes.
- Responsible for ordering supplies and ensuring that the dialysis unit is clean and well stocked
 - Facilitate the maintenance of clinical equipment by identifying malfunctioning equipment and scheduling service.
-Maintaining Equipment: Ensure all nephrology-related equipment is properly maintained and calibrated, adhering to the highest standards of safety and hygiene.
- Client Education: Provide compassionate guidance to pet owners, helping them understand their pet’s condition and treatment options, including home care and dietary management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to deliver comprehensive and individualized care for each pet.
 
 
What We’re Looking For:
 
- VTS or RVT with Critical Care or Internal Medicine experience
- 5+ years of anesthesia experience, critical care, and/or has worked in a specialty animal hospital.
- On Call availability required
- Required technical skills include Advanced phlebotomy skills/Jug Catheters/central lines, feeding tube placement, urinary catheter placement, sedation and general anesthesia of animals ASA 3 and above, transfusion medicine, intensive care patient monitoring and treatment
 - Independently initiate and carry out CPR
- Expert understanding of medical terminology and veterinary pharmacology and the ability to communicate with clinicians, staff, and clients in medical terminology
 - Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a member of a diverse team of clinical and administrative professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to provide mentorship and leadership to other technicians.
- Able to work well independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a busy, stressful environment with diverse personalities while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
 - Expertise with medical records (Ezyvet and smartflow knowledge is a plus)
 
Compensation: 
Non Credentialed Assistants $21/hr - $30/hr 
Licensed Technicians -$25/hr - $38/hr 
VTS - $40/hr 
Pay to be determined by skills assessment
