ACCESS San Fernando Valley is seeking a Hospital Manager to join our growing team!
- ACCESS, a network of multi-specialty practices located throughout the SoCal area, provides 24/7 ER and specialty care to the surrounding communities.
- Our departments have a busy and varied caseload with a high number of both referrals and emergency cases.
- Specialties include critical care, cardiology, oncology, internal medicine, interventional radiology, endoscopy, surgery, orthopedic surgery with joint replacement center, nephrology with IHD, CRRT, Plasma Exchange and SCUF available, neurology, urology along with Avian + Exotic medicine. We also have a highly trained and skilled support staff who are dedicated to ensuring the success of our services.

Job Purpose –
• The Hospital Manager is responsible for maintaining a hospital that adheres to the principles of Quality, Integrity, Compassion, and Service
• Responsible for all of the daily operations and systems management within the hospital, according to systems developed and implemented by the Director of Operations
Duties and Responsibilities –
• Scheduling of new hire meetings with all new employees, completing new hire paperwork, creating employee charts, updating chart information, and verifying that ACCESS is in compliance with all policies, procedures, and legal requirements for employees
• Responsible for review and approval of financial decisions regarding clients including write offs, adjustments, billing, payment agreements, etc.
• Oversight of collections by coordinating routine reviews with Collections Department / Individuals in charge of accounts receivable
• IT Maintenance: Scheduling with IT Service for routine maintenance, rebuilding of indexes as necessary, communicating with the practice management software vendor to complete updates as needed, and addressing individual computer terminal issues as needed
• Creation of line items for pricing and routinely monitoring existing pricing to determine if costs are being appropriately covered by price
• Guidance and leadership of all meetings such as lead or supervisor meetings, verifying that all action items from each meeting are handled before eliminating them from the list of Items to Complete. While other administrative personnel (Director of Operations, Hospital Owner, etc.) may also be involved or elect to lead specific meetings, the general expectation is that all meetings for all departments, services, and doctors will be organized and led by the Hospital Manager
• Benefit Organization: Scheduling and completing the distribution of benefits to all employees (insurance, 401k, supplemental benefits, Holiday programs, etc.); completing all needed surveys or informational requests from benefit providers (including 401k yearly census, etc.)
• Payroll: Preparing all payroll for doctors and lay staff, entering payroll into the designated payroll software in a timely manner for appropriate payroll distribution dates, and monitoring dates in advance to alert staff as to when payroll periods may be shortened or lengthened due to holidays or scheduling conflicts
• Training: Verifying that each trainer has the appropriate tools to adequately train the employees within their department, and coordinating with the Training Supervisor to determine the direction of individual employees or department leads/supervisors
• Human Resources / Employee Relations: Meeting with employees on an as-needed basis to discuss any issues they may have, or ACCESS may have with them. Additionally, responsible for reviewing performance of employees that are responsible for: inventory management, operational system implementation, marketing initiatives, and financial processes
• Employee Discounts: Verifying that all employee charges are input for services completed at ACCESS, and discount bills per the Employee Pet Discount Policy
• Client Relations: Handling of all client complaints, issues, and compliments in a timely and appropriate manner. At no time should any client issue be ignored
• Review and verify charges for all bills, and oversee charge capturing efforts by all appropriate personnel
• Prepare reports as directed in order to monitor hospital performance and effectiveness of execution of the strategic plan
• Responsible for upholding the spirit of ACCESS by handling all necessary tasks that require attention
Compensation: $80,000 to $85,000/yearly, dependent upon experience
Qualifications –
• The Hospital Manager should ideally possess a bachelor’s degree, and have 5+ years of hospital management experience in a large hospital setting
