VSCS is a 24-hour Emergency, Critical Care, and Specialty hospital. We provide care across multiple specialties, including Emergency and Critical Care, Neurology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology, and Radiology. Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) who:
- Has at least 1 year of clinical veterinary experience
- Brings a positive, team-oriented attitude to work every day
- Is committed to providing a stress-free environment for our patients
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative setting
- Has a flexible schedule and is willing to adapt to the needs of the hospital
- Holds an active WA State Veterinary Technician's License
Key Responsibilities
As an Oncology LVT, you’ll be responsible for providing high-quality care to our oncology patients, both hospitalized and outpatient, while delivering exceptional client service. Specific tasks include:
- Utilizing a Fear Free approach to handling patients and following safety protocols
- Maintaining accurate patient records using EzyVet and SmartFlow
- Administering injectable and oral medications (antiemetics, steroids, etc.) and understanding chemotherapeutic agents and protocols
- Setting up and assisting with chemotherapy, tissue sampling, and other diagnostic procedures
- Demonstrating understanding of hazardous waste handling and chemotherapy safety protocols
- Performing venipuncture, cystocentesis, and laboratory procedures (e.g., blood smears, PCV/TS)
- Communicating effectively with clients, providing updates and ensuring their understanding of treatment plans
- Supporting our gold standard veterinary care and advocating for the well-being of our patients
