About You
PetCure Oncology, one of the most exciting and innovative veterinary oncology providers in the country, is seeking unique, highly energized, compassionate Veterinary Technicians for a part time role at our location in Mansfield, Dallas. TX.
The ideal candidate needs to be highly skilled in administering and monitoring anesthesia. This position will serve as the technician supporting the patients seen through the radiation oncology service. Additional responsibilities include compassionate patient care, anesthesia induction and monitoring, excellent client care and communication and involvement in the department's growth.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- Required: 2 years of veterinary experience, specialty hospital experience a plus, preferably Oncology.
- Experience in managing critical patients preferred
- Required: Strong background in administering and monitoring anesthesia
- Ability to multi-task and adjust and learn in a fast-paced environment
- Are energetic: TEAM players with great communication skills
- Excellent computer skills and can learn and assimilate quickly to new computer applications – high level of technology as a cloud-based company.
- Can fully use their technical skills, as well as learn from new experiences
- Provide input and assist with all aspects of patient care
- Promoting PetCure Oncology & SRS through education and participation in community and veterinary events and other duties according to company needs
Role Responsibilities:
- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
- With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
- Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
- Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
- Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
