** This position will ideally be based in Austin, TX out of our headquarters office and be hybrid in office 2-days a week. Candidates based in other geographies across the U.S. will also be considered for a remote role. **

Job Summary:  
As a Cash Specialist, you will be an integral part of our veterinary services organization, responsible for managing cash transactions and ensuring accurate financial records across our network of 400 locations. You will play a crucial role in reconciling accounts. The ideal candidate will have a background in cash reconciliation, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting the financial health of our veterinary practices. 
Responsibilities: 
  • Cash Reconciliation: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of cash accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records, investigating and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner. 
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve discrepancies in cash transactions by analyzing transaction records, communicating with practice managers and staff, and implementing corrective actions as needed. 
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies related to cash handling, financial reporting, and data security across all veterinary locations. 
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement in cash handling operations, collaborating with other departments to implement best practices and standardize procedures. 
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation and records of cash transactions, deposits, and reconciliation reports, ensuring completeness and accessibility for audits and financial analysis. 

Key Qualifications:
 
  • 2-3 years’ experience in cash reconciliation or accounting, preferably within the healthcare or veterinary industry
  • Strong understanding of cash reconciliation procedures and controls in a multi-location environment 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with cash management software or accounting systems 
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy in calculations, and ability to manage complex financial data across multiple locations
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving cash-related issues
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Certification in cash handling or reconciliation 
  • Experience with banking platforms and electronic payment processing systems 
  • Experience with veterinary practice management software or electronic medical records systems
  • Previous experience in a multi-site or corporate environment, supporting financial
