Job Overview:
This is a full-time position, working 4 - 10 hour shifts. 

Compensation: negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at $20 - $23 / hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. 

Our Veterinary Assistants & Technicians work under the supervision of the Hospital Manager, and Veterinarian. They are responsible for the care and treatment of unstable and or ill patients, triaging patients, monitoring hospitalized patients, performing patient laboratory tests, treatments and nursing care, admitting and discharging patients, client communication and education, and answering technician calls. 

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology
  • Ability to appropriately handle, lift and restrain animals (dogs, cats) and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform veterinary medical procedures (i.e. vaccines, radiology, some venipuncture, nail trims, anal gland expression, administering medications & fluids, and assess & triage patients).
  • Demonstrate  basic organizational and computer skills 
  • Must have recent experience in veterinary practice with increasing responsibilities
