Emergency Veterinarian

Veterinarian - ER York, Pennsylvania

Description

Position at Thrive Pet Healthcare

OUR PRACTICE

In early 1990, a group of  York  County veterinarians realized a need for an emergency clinic to serve local pet owners with immediate, quality emergency care when their regular veterinarians were not available.  In 1991, the Animal Emergency Clinic of York opened its doors to patients.

On January 7th, 2005 Monroe Veterinary Emergency Group purchased the clinic.  The Animal Emergency Clinic of York continued to provide high-quality emergency care to all patients in need by offering care overnight, 24 hours on the weekends, and on holidays.  As the hospital grew, both in services provided and the number of referring veterinarians, we quickly outgrew our original home.  It was clear to the staff and clients alike, that we needed a bigger facility.   The AERC started their search for a building that would not only provide the needed space but also be a reflection of the high level of care provided by the hospital staff.

On December 5th, 2007, The Animal Emergency Clinic of York opened its new location at 1640 South Queen Street and began operating as a 24-hour emergency and referral center, open 365 days a year to meet the needs of the community.  The hospital quickly began to attract the attention of specialists, and within a year the hospital began offering specialty surgery and ophthalmology.  The clinic was renamed the Animal Emergency & Referral Center as a response to the growth and direction demanded by the clients and referring veterinarians.
