The Opportunity:

The Accounts Receivable Technician Intern will support the Cash Application team within the Order-to-Cash cycle. This 4-month internship is designed for students looking to gain practical accounting experience in a corporate finance environment. The intern will assist with daily payment processing, investigation of unapplied cash, and reconciliation activities while developing strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day functions within the Cash Application team
  • Support daily payment entries into ERP systems using automated and manual processes
  • Investigate payments received but not yet applied; review remittance details and follow up internally as required
  • Work with collectors to support reconciliation of customer accounts
  • Deposit cheques using remote scanning technology
  • Assist with processing adjustments such as reapplications, corrections, or NSF items
  • Support weekly and monthly reconciliations between banking portals and internal systems to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Help review unapplied cash and on-account balances
  • Provide payment back-up documentation to internal stakeholders as requested
  • Contribute to ad hoc AR projects and general team support

Education:

Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary program in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Preference for 2nd or 3rd year students.

Requirements:

  • Available for a 4-month term beginning  May 2026
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical ability
  • Eager to learn and proactive in a team environment
  • Comfortable working with numbers and financial data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Previous accounting or ERP exposure is an asset but not required
