Purpose:

  • Overall bottom-line responsibility for Sunoco operations in St. Maarten
  • Provides leadership on critical issues common to all functions within the St. Maarten.
  • Acts as Lead External Contact for the company and serves as the "face and voice" of Sol Petroleum on critical external issues.
  • Manage all Operations, Sales & Marketing functions for Sol St. Maarten with the focus on safe, profitable and ethical operations, delivering best of class value to customers, growing the business profitably by identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities for new retail builds, flag-switches and expansion of the commercial portfolio delivering on short and long-term business objectives.

Accountabilities:

         Overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and financial performance in country with emphasis on sales, operation performance and internal controls

         Delivers sales targets (margins, volumes, credit, revenue, accounts receivables, growth targets) for Lubricants through a structured approach and assist in growing the LPG business in the market.

         Lead the development and execution of annual country business plans in line with regional strategy and corporate planning templates.

         Drive operational efficiency and ensure implementation of robust internal control systems to monitor progress against country scorecard objectives (gross margin, volume, OPEX, receivables, etc.).

         Maintain close awareness of external environmental, legal, and economic developments affecting business operations and propose adaptive strategic responses.

         Serve as primary liaison with senior government officials, regulators, financial institutions, and other key external stakeholders to support business interests and policy advocacy.

         Support new business development initiatives, including large tenders, joint ventures, distributor partnerships, and M&A evaluations.

         Recruit, coach and lead staff.

         Administers HR Policy including Performance Management System.

         Manages corporate reputation in country.

         Prepare country Business Plans in accordance with agreed templates

         Any other duties as required.

POEMS/HSE

General Responsibilities (but not limited to):

         To ensure the highest standards of Safety in the execution of daily duties and to lead by example in Safety driven activities

         Participate in all HSE market led activities to help realize target of zero incidents and accidents

         Ensure full compliance with all Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) and Control Policies across the organization, including contractors and service station personnel.

         Personally lead by example in HSE activities, participating in Incident Prevention Observations (IPO), Safe Behaviour Observations (SBO), safety meetings, and safety events.

         Work in tandem with team to strengthen the HS-MS system.

 

Qualification Requirements:

  • A University degree in Business Administration as a minimum qualification
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated management experience

 

Competencies Required:

  • Eight (8) years’ experience at a senior management level position in the petroleum industry
  • Must be an extrovert, results driven, analytical, creative professional with strong business sense demonstrated man-management skills with advance skills in negotiations
  • Excellent organizational, communication skills & interpersonal relationships

 

Other Information:

Travel between St. Maarten and BVI will be required.
