  • A place where you can take your career in the direction you want to grow and go

The Opportunity:

The Senior Product Lead, Retail Data & Analytics is accountable for the end‑to‑end ownership of data products that enable retail performance, customer growth, and loyalty outcomes. This role partners closely with North American and International Retail, Marketing, Loyalty, and Digital stakeholders to translate business strategy into a prioritized, value‑driven data product roadmap.

As a senior individual contributor, this role owns product vision, backlog prioritization, and delivery outcomes across a complex portfolio spanning retail operations, pricing and promotions, marketing analytics, loyalty programs, customer engagement, and customer data platforms (CDP). The Product Lead works closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Platform teams to ensure solutions are trusted, scalable, and aligned to enterprise data standards.

This role is hands‑on and requires the ability to work directly with data in Databricks, review SQL‑based transformations and data models, and partner closely with Data Engineers and Technical Data Analysts on solution design and delivery. This is not a project manager or hands-off proxy Product Owner role. The Senior Product Lead is expected to engage directly with data, understand technical implementation details, and actively shape solutions alongside engineering and analytics partners.

Responsibilities:

Product Ownership & Strategy

  • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for assigned Retail, Marketing, and Loyalty data products.
  • Translate business goals into clear product outcomes, success metrics, and delivery priorities.
  • Ensure data products deliver measurable business value aligned to customer growth, engagement, and profitability objectives.

Domain Ownership – Retail, Marketing & Loyalty

  • Own global data products supporting:
    • Retail operations & merchandising performance.
    • Pricing, promotions, and competitive insights.
    • Marketing analytics, attribution, and campaign effectiveness.
    • Loyalty programs, customer engagement, and fraud monitoring.
    • Customer Data Platforms (CDP), segmentation, and activation.
  • Act as the primary point of accountability for stakeholder alignment, prioritization, and tradeoff decisions within these domains.

Backlog & Delivery Management

  • Maintain a prioritized product backlog aligned to business value, data readiness, and delivery capacity.
  • Write clear epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with functional consultants, stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release readiness activities.
  • Partner with engineering and analytics teams to deliver highimpact solutions and to ensure technical feasibility, data readiness, and performance considerations are addressed early.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Partner with senior leaders across Retail, Marketing, Loyalty, Digital, and International businesses to shape roadmap priorities.
  • Facilitate workshops to clarify requirements, align on outcomes, and manage scope.
  • Communicate roadmap progress, risks, and outcomes with clarity and transparency.

Hands‑On Technical Product Ownership

  • Work directly in Databricks to explore datasets, validate outputs, and support backlog refinement and acceptance.
  • Review and validate SQL, data transformations, and data models to ensure they meet business intent and quality expectations.
  • Use Python (e.g., notebooks, lightweight analysis scripts) to explore datasets, validate business logic, assess edge cases, and support acceptance criteria and decision-making.
  • Partner closely with Data Engineers and Technical Data Analysts to shape solution design, sequencing, and technical trade‑offs.
  • Participate in design discussions related to ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, and performance considerations.
  • Support testing and validation of data products by reviewing results, edge cases, and reconciliation outputs.

Data Quality, Trust & Governance

  • Ensure data products meet enterprise standards for data quality, privacy, security, and governance.
  • Partner with Data Governance and Platform teams to embed controls, lineage, and documentation.
  • Advocate for trusted, reusable data assets over oneoff solutions.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and track KPIs to measure adoption, performance, and business impact of data products.
  • Use insights and feedback to continuously refine product scope and delivery approach.
  • Support change management and adoption across business teams.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in product management or product ownership, with significant experience in data, analytics, or digital products.
  • Demonstrated experience owning complex data products end‑to‑end in a matrixed enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of analytics, AI, data platforms, and modern BI ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to work with senior business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
  • Hands‑on experience working with modern data platforms, including Databricks.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and data modeling concepts as well as familiarity with Python for data analysis and validation.
  • Ability to read, understand, and validate ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformations.
  • Experience partnering closely with Data Engineers and Technical Data Analysts in an Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban).
Preferred
  • Experience in retail, marketing analytics, loyalty programs, or customer data platforms.
  • Familiarity with pricing, promotions, merchandising, or customer engagement analytics.
  • Experience supporting international or multibrand retail environments.
  • Product Management or Agile certifications (CSPO, SAFe PO/PM) considered an asset.
