The Opportunity:
The Dispatcher - Lubricants is responsible for scheduling bulk deliveries, assisting drivers with directions, and providing customer service and logistics support with respect to fuel, heating oil and/or lubricant deliveries throughout the geographic area.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and administering all traffic functions relating to lubricant freight delivery. Responsible for all dispatch incoming/outgoing phone calls.
- Handles all requests, orders and complaints from Drivers, Sales Reps and Customers daily.
- Handles all incoming Fed-Ex deliveries and dispatches out to appropriate recipients.
- Ensures customer orders are correct and monitors key performance data to anticipate customer service problems, opportunities and risks.
- Establishes and manages high quality customer relationships by maintaining knowledge of brand sales messaging, scheduling and following-up with clients. Responds to customer questions about products, prices, availability and programs.
- Identifies potential customers and makes first contact, cold calls.
- Provides directions to drivers to ensure accurate and timely delivery. Track methanol drivers via GPS to assist in the delivery of product to remote customer locations.
- Coordinates with Management, Drivers, and customers to resolve any issues, problems or concerns that arise in transit or during delivery. Decide and disseminate solutions to meet and satisfy customer needs. Coordinate with Transportation Manager and Drivers to fulfill customer orders.
- Reports problems to supervisor in a timely and accurate manner and follow-up to ensure problem resolutions.
- Monitors GPS units on the trucks to assist in processing customer orders effectively & efficiently and use location in the event of an emergency to locate the Driver & trucks.
- Scheduling all inbound and outbound trucks daily.
- Maintains a viable relationship with Management, truck drivers, Sales Reps and customers to ensure needs are met at all times.
- Provides accurate accident, safety and various other related reporting as required.
- Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by immediate supervisor.
- On-call nights and rotating weekends.
- Employee must demonstrate safe work and risk management practices. Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues. Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with Sunoco's policy and procedure.
- Ensures that confidentiality of data collected and stored are maintained.
- Employee is expected to set priorities and meet deadlines. Employee is responsible for planning and carrying out assignments, resolving conflicts that arise, informing and coordinating with others as expected. Employee is accountable for ensuring the technical accuracy of their work and maintaining good working relations, both internal and external to Parkland USA. Self-direction and motivation are also expected.
- Must meet performance expectations and complete all duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Flexibility to work within constantly changing priorities
- Ability to work independently
