The Opportunity:

The Senior Product Lead Supply & Operations Data & Analytics is accountable for the end‑to‑end ownership of data products that enable supply chain optimization, trading insights, operational performance, and enterprise decision‑making. This role partners closely with Supply & Trading, Transportation, Health & Safety, Finance, Commercial, and Enterprise Operations stakeholders.

As a senior individual contributor, this role owns product vision, backlog prioritization, and delivery outcomes across advanced analytics, optimization engines, operational reporting, and cross‑system data integrations. The Product Lead ensures data products are scalable, trusted, and aligned to enterprise data strategy while enabling complex operational decision‑making.

This role is hands‑on and requires the ability to work directly with data in Databricks, review SQL‑based transformations and data models, and partner closely with Data Engineers and Technical Data Analysts on solution design and delivery. This is not a project manager or hands-off proxy Product Owner role. The Senior Product Lead is expected to engage directly with data, understand technical implementation details, and actively shape solutions alongside engineering and analytics partners.

Responsibilities:

      Product Ownership & Strategy
      • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Supply, Trading, and Operations data products.
      • Translate operational and optimization objectives into measurable product outcomes.
      • Balance short‑term operational needs with long‑term platform and analytics strategy.

Domain Ownership – Retail, Marketing & Loyalty

      • Own data products supporting:
        • Supply chain, trading, and logistics analytics.
        • Optimization and planning engines.
        • Transportation, safety, and operational performance dashboards.
        • Finance reporting and semantic data models.
        • Master Data Management (MDM) and enterprise data integrations.
        • Commercial and enterprise operational data services.
      • Act as the primary point of accountability for stakeholder alignment, prioritization, and trade‑off decisions within these domains.

      Backlog & Delivery Management

      • Maintain a prioritized backlog aligned to operational value, data readiness, and delivery capacity.
      • Define epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria for complex analytical and optimization use cases.
      • Partner with engineering and analytics teams to deliver high‑impact solutions and to ensure technical feasibility, data readiness, and performance considerations are addressed early.

      Stakeholder Partnership

      • Work closely with Supply & Trading leadership, Operations, Finance, and Enterprise teams.
      • Facilitate working sessions to align on scope, sequencing, and success measures.
      • Communicate clearly on delivery progress, risks, and dependencies.

      Hands‑On Technical Product Ownership

      • Work directly in Databricks to explore datasets, validate outputs, and support backlog refinement and acceptance.
      • Review and validate SQL, data transformations, and data models to ensure they meet business intent and quality expectations.
      • Use Python (e.g., notebooks, lightweight analysis scripts) to explore datasets, validate business logic, assess edge cases, and support acceptance criteria and decision-making.
      • Partner closely with Data Engineers and Technical Data Analysts to shape solution design, sequencing, and technical trade‑offs.
      • Participate in design discussions related to ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, and performance considerations.
      • Support testing and validation of data products by reviewing results, edge cases, and reconciliation outputs.

      Data Quality, Trust & Governance

      • Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for data quality, security, and compliance.
      • Partner with Platform and Governance teams on MDM, lineage, and cross‑system consistency.
      • Support enterprise transitions (e.g., system migrations) with clear product ownership.
      • Advocate for trusted, reusable data assets over one‑off solutions.

      Measurement & Continuous Improvement

      • Define and track KPIs to measure operational impact, adoption, and optimization outcomes.
      • Continuously refine products based on performance data and stakeholder feedback.
      • Support change management and adoption across business teams.

      Education:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

      Requirements:

      • 7+ years of experience in product management or product ownership, with significant experience in data, analytics, or digital products.
      • Demonstrated experience owning complex data products end‑to‑end in a matrixed enterprise environment.
      • Strong understanding of analytics, AI, data platforms, and modern BI ecosystems.
      • Proven ability to work with senior business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
      • Hands‑on experience working with modern data platforms, including Databricks.
      • Strong working knowledge of SQL and data modeling concepts as well as familiarity with Python for data analysis and validation.
      • Ability to read, understand, and validate ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformations.
      • Experience partnering closely with Data Engineers and Technical Data Analysts in an Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban).
      Preferred
      • Experience in supply chain analytics, trading, logistics, or operational optimization.
      • Exposure to advanced analytics, AI, optimization models, or planning systems.
      • Experience working with finance reporting, enterprise integrations, or MDM solutions.
      • Background in energy, transportation, or asset‑intensive industries considered an asset.
